Venerable Sangye Khadro |
We sometimes find ourselves filled with negative thoughts and emotions, such as anger, desire, jealousy, sadness or depression. Why do these experiences happen to us, even though we do not want them? Is there anything we can do about them? Is it possible to have more positive emotions like love, compassion, patience, and joy? According to Buddhism, it is possible to transform our mind—having more positive emotions, and fewer negative ones—and there are many methods for doing so. By working on our mind in this way, we can avoid creating problems for ourselves and others, and our life will be more peaceful and happy.
This course/retreat will include explanations of the mind and emotions, as well as practical methods for working on various disturbing emotions. The course will also include guided meditations, and opportunities for questions and discussion.
Venerable Sangye Khadro is an internationally well-known meditation teacher and she teaches in English that is easy to understand. Her teachings include question and answer sessions and guided meditations.
