Compassion and the Ultimate Nature of Our Mind

By Venerable Geshe Tenzin Namdak

UPDATE: [September 3, 2021] Unfortunately Geshe Namdak will not be able to travel to the Netherlands this time. This course will be offered online through Zoom, as well as live in Loenen where besides the live teachings on the big screen, a supplementary program will be offered including meditation sessions and discussion groups. The residential course in Loenen includes meals and lodging.

To generate the mind of enlightenment we must develop courageous compassion and to achieve the state of Buddhahood we also need to realize the ultimate nature of our mind. During this weekend Geshe Namdak will explain these two essential points of the path. He will share his deep knowledge in a practical way with teachings, guided meditations and Q&A, offering a chance to develop a deeper understanding of compassion and the nature of the mind based on Arya Nagarjuna’s texts In Praise of Sentient Beings and In Praise of the Vajra Mind.

Venerable Geshe Tenzin Namdak first worked as an environmental researcher having graduated in hydrology. He started studying Buddhism at Maitreya Institute in The Netherlands in 1993 and took ordination from His Holiness the Dalai Lama before engaging in his formal studies in Buddhist philosophy and psychology at Sera Jey Monastic University, South India. He completed the entire twenty-year Geshe program at Sera Jey in 2017 and the traditional one-year Vajrayana study program at Gyume Tantric College in January 2019, the first Westerner to do so.
Geshe Namdak has received a great number of teachings from His Holiness and many other highly respected teachers and lineage masters, has done many retreats and is an experienced teacher in practical and philosophical aspects of Buddhism, that he teaches with great clarity and a good sense of humour. Currently, he is the resident teacher at Jamyang Buddhist Centre, London, and teaches worldwide.
