Evening course: Path to Joy
with Ven. Amy Miller
The Path to Joy offers participants a practical roadmap of how to cultivate happiness and overcome suffering in the midst of life’s challenges.
In this course the steps on the path to enlightenment (Lam Rim), the foundational philosophy of Tibetan Buddhism, will be interwoven with insights of The Book of Joy. This bestselling book is a conversation between His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. These two Nobel Peace Prize laureates share their wisdom on living joyfully despite life's hardships.
This course explores the Eight Pillars of Joy along with the realistic tools necessary to undertake that journey:
- perspective,
- humility,
- humour,
- acceptance,
- forgiveness,
- gratitude,
- compassion,
- generosity.
Each session will consist of teaching, Q&A, meditation and occasionally discussion groups. This course is open to all levels of students although some Buddhist background is helpful.

Donation
Dāna (generosity) is one of the cornerstones of the Buddhist path. By virtue of their generosity, the Buddha and the ordained sangha offer us the teachings, and in exchange, the lay community supports Dharma centers and the monastic community. This interdependence is essential for us to share the Dharma and continue our work to benefit all sentient beings. With your donation we support our teachers in their cost of living and we uphold our Dharma center, which is managed entirely by volunteers.
The suggested donation for this course is €60. For students and people with low income, the suggested donation is €40. Please send us an email if you'd like to make use of this option. Keep in mind that the donation amount should never be an obstacle to your access to the Dharma. Please contact us if it might be an obstacle for you.
