The act of going for refuge marks the point where one decides to take the Dharma as the primary guide to the conduct in one’s life. It means that one’s relationship to Dharma practice has matured from simple involvement into a commitment. Through seeking refuge in the three Jewels Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, we can fulfil all our own wishes as well as the wishes of all living beings.
Geshe la will use Lama Tsongkhapa's brief text to give an overview of the entire Buddhist path to happiness. He will place a special focus on refuge in the Three Jewels (Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha) and Bodhicitta (the wish for enlightenment for the benefit of all beings). You will learn about what it means to take refuge and what the essential practices of refuge are.
The topics of refuge and bodhicitta will be presented from the point of view of meditation, providing students with instructions on how to contemplate these topics deeply and bring them forth in the mind.
These teachings are only available online through Zoom.
