Lha Bab Düchen celebration
Led by Ven. Amy Miller
Online and onsite
According to the Tibetan calendar, the twenty second day of the ninth month (usually in October or November) is celebrated as ‘Buddha Shakyamuni’s descent from the heaven of the 33' (Trayastrimsa). The mother of the Buddha was reborn in this heaven and out of gratitude for her goodness, the Buddha spent three months there to give teachings to the gods there and to free his mother from samsara. A week earlier, on the 15th of the ninth Tibetan month, we celebrate that the Buddha accepted to return to Earth from the ‘heaven of the 33’.
On the occasion of Lhabab Düchen this year we'll have a celebration with prayers on November 4, led by Ven. Amy Miller.
