Maarten de Vries

Maarten is the former director of the Maitreya Institute in Emst and Loenen. Since 2017, he has been the deputy director and Spiritual Program Coordinator. He has been deeply involved in Buddhism since 2001. He previously worked as a (head) chef. As a teacher and professional instructor, he guided numerous apprentice chefs during their training. He recently completed a didactic-pedagogical training to become a practice teacher. Now, he enthusiastically uses his teaching experience to explain the basic principles of Buddhism and meditation. In July 2022, he became a Buddhist monk and received the name Lobsang Norbu. Go back
