Stupafonds Loenen
We are building a stupa on the grounds of the Maitreya Institute in Loenen on the advice of Lama Zopa Rinpoche. There are different models of stupas, each with its own meaning. The advice is to build an enlightenment stupa: a symbol of enlightenment in general and specifically of the enlightenment of Shakyamuni Buddha in Bodhgaya, India, more than 2,500 years ago. And something is already beginning to arise on the former tennis courts on our grounds!
It is not just about brickwork: there are various copper parts, and inside, all the spaces will be filled with mantra rolls, tsa tsas (plaster casts of deities), religious texts and much more. The copper components have already been ordered in Kathmandu, Nepal, the Kangyur (texts with teachings by the Buddha) and Tengyur (commentaries by Indian masters in the past) are already ready, large mantra rolls have been ordered from a printer in Germany, smaller mantra rolls have been made by volunteers, etc. etc. And there is much more to be done... We will keep you informed of every development in the Maitreya newsletter. You can subscribe for the newsletter on the homepage of this website.
Ultimately, we envision a 6.40m high stupa, surrounded by eight smaller stupas, with lighting, plants, etc.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the construction of a stupa. Every donation is more than welcome. Thank you in advance!
